Creating your custom shade

If you're looking to get something really special custom-made for you or a lucky loved one, this guide will help you understand how the process works.

I'll work with you to make a one-of-a-kind piece of art-a-light, designed to enhance the atmosphere of whatever space it's made for.

Get lit

1. Get in touch

Tell me about your space, and more importantly, about your vision. Photos really help. Send me photos of your room, and all of its colours. If it's a pendant (hanging) shade you want, let me know. If you want two matching, one pendant and one lamp, let me know. If you've got a lamp base already, send a photo and its measurements. If you don't have a lamp base, that's fine, it's something I can help with too.

2. We'll get into it

Next, we'll have a quick chat about what exactly you're looking for. Colours, textures, mood. If you can't put it into words yet, that's okay. "Something warm and a bit maximalist" is more than enough. You can be as prescriptive as you like, or hand the creative reins over to me. I'll ask questions until we both have a clearer picture of where we're going.

3. I'll create your design

Once we've agreed on direction, you'll pay me a design fee, and I'll come back to you with a detailed design concept. You can change things at this point – that's the whole point of custom, it's about creating exactly what you want. We will land on something we are both mad about before anything gets made!

4. I'll make your shade

You'll pay half of the remaining fee, and I will source the materials and get to work. I'll keep you in the loop throughout. Turnaround is usually 6–10 weeks depending on the complexity of the design and how busy I am – I'll give you an honest timeline before we start.

5. I'll ship to your door

Once your shade is complete, I'll send detailed photos and videos for you to approve. Once you're happy, your shade will be carefully packaged and shipped to you with the utmost care and love.

I ship worldwide (insured), so just a heads up that customs fees may apply depending on where you are. I do not take responsibility for these fees, so make sure you're happy with them!
