Returns & Refunds

Because every shade is made by hand, just for you, please read this before you order — it'll save any confusion later.

Made to order & bespoke pieces

All House of Shmooze lampshades — whether from the stock designs or fully bespoke — are made to order. This means that once your order is placed and production begins, we're unable to accept returns or offer refunds simply because you've changed your mind.

Under Irish consumer law (Consumer Rights Act 2022), made-to-order and personalised items are exempt from the standard 14-day cooling-off period that applies to most online purchases. By placing an order with us, you're confirming you understand this.

If you're unsure about size, colours or whether a shade will work in your space, please get in touch before ordering — I'm very happy to help you figure it out.

Faulty or damaged items

If your shade arrives damaged or there's a fault with the craftsmanship, I absolutely want to make it right. Contact me within 30 days of receiving your order at houseofshmooze@gmail.com with your order number and photos of the issue.

Depending on the situation, I'll offer a repair, replacement or refund. If the item needs to be returned, I'll cover the cost of return postage for any verified fault.

What if something goes wrong in transit?

Please inspect your shade when it arrives. If the packaging is visibly damaged, note it before signing for delivery if possible. Take a photo before you open the box, if possible. Get in touch straight away and we'll figure it out.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel an order, please contact me as soon as possible. If production hasn't started yet, I'll do my best to accommodate you. Once work has begun, cancellations may not be possible, or a partial refund may apply depending on how far along the shade is.

For bespoke commissions, the design deposit is non-refundable once the design process has begun.
